医師。大腸肛門病の外科治療、機能性大腸肛門疾患（便秘、便失禁）などを専門としている。日本外科学会名誉会員、日本臨床外科学会名誉会員、日本大腸肛門病学会名誉会員、日本ストーマ・排泄リハビリテーション学会前理事長・名誉会員、大腸肛門機能障害研究会会長、ICS Japan Section会長。
